EMail Notification is a product from On Time Support which allows you to schedule the delivery of EMail to your customers or other personnel.
Messages may include notifications of various metrology activities such as the notification that instruments are due for calibration, escalation reports, instruments significantly out of tolerance, instruments due for pickup, customer feedback survey. These messages are automatically sent via a schedule which you determine using a simple web-based interface. The following is a list of preliminary features:
- EMail Notification utilizes On Time Support's METDaemon technology designed to deliver a wide range of new applications. The program is installed on the MET/TRACK server and there is no client installation.
- Send HTML formatted emails that may (or may not!) contain data to a list of recipients on a scheduled basis.
- Recipient lists may be as a group of people, or individuals, or both.
- Individuals may be grouped into configurable groups, with no limit to the number of groups or how many groups a person may be a member of.
- Schedules are configurable, similar to what scheduling methods are available to users of Microsoft OS's, and typical UNIX OS's.
- Initially, a couple of different HTML formats are provided, and the customer may create new ones (or modify the existing formats). Creating reports can be done very quickly. The format of the reports is totally up to the user. For example, the system administrator could create reports that produce automated survey forms.
- Initially, the report formats are in HTML, with a pleasing tabular-style display. These may be modified by the administrator.
- Installation is simplified with a new installation procedure and setup. The server does not need to be re-booted after the installation thereby not interrupting a production server. ODBC and Web Servers are not used for the installation either.
- Administration of this system is accomplished using a modern web browser that supports JavaScript, CSS 1.0, and DOM 1.0 (Mozilla 1.6+, Mozilla Firefox 1.0+, Netscape 7.1+, Internet Explorer 6+).
Quick Start Options
On Time Support has two quick start options available. While EMail Notification is well documented and easy to set up, sometimes the customer does not have the time to learn a new program. OTS can provide remote support to create the SQL Reports and Report formats. All that is required is the customer's database or customization file. Databases are kept in strict confidence. We work with the customer via EMail and Phone. The 5080-5PKG provides for 5 SQL Reports and 1 Customized Report Format. The 5080-10PKG provides for 10 SQL Reports and 2 Customized Report Formats. Please note that Report Formats are sometimes limited to the formats of various EMail systems. For example, colors are not always supported. Please contact our office for more information.
